This past weekend In The Buff celebrated their 18th Birthday. The alums came back and we watched the current members perform and took the stage with them for a couple of songs. In honor of In The Buff and our 18th birthday I am releasing a song from our last studio album, “LIVE From The Ambassador’s Hot Tub”

It’s what like week four of Myke Charles Mondays? Aight well my mixtape should be dropping the last Monday of this month! Until than…here is another little something something for you to listen to and not forget about me.

This week I filmed a short video of me doing a cappella poem basically. It’s called “This Love” and is about a past relationship I experienced that was somewhat turbulent in nature. I hope you enjoy.

Today is the first day of Myke Charles Mondays! A lot of people were saying they are going to miss seeing and hearing from me every Monday since The Sing-Off is over, so I decided to release something for my supporters every Monday until my mixtape drops in January.

Here we are. For this first Monday I’m releasing a short video of me doing a freestyle track over Wale ft. Miguel’s “Lotus Flower Bomb”. My inspiration for the verse was how a woman (or parts of a woman) can be personified through a flower so I tried using word play and extended metaphor in the verse. Shout out to Wale and Miguel for killing the original. Hope y’all dig it. Look for me in the sky. Stay up.

It’s round 2 of Myke Charles Monday’s and it is also my birthday. I’m a quarter. Anyway, today I present a song and a video by the name of “Plan B”.

I must warn you that this video may not be for the feint of heart and I apologize to anyone who finds it offensive or particularly disturbing. This is my art and the video portrays the extremes of the emotions I feel in the song.

Not gunna be too wordy but peep it…there’s this really dope singer from Toronto that you may have heard of named The Weeknd….if not check him out he’s super dope. Anyway He has a song called, “High For This” on his “House of Balloons” peep it….

….anyway. My boy Res remixed a part of it and I did a freestyle verse over it. Afterward we took a shitty camera and did some night filming. The homie Paul Junior from Fresh Breath Committee directed and edited the joint….so yeah check it out. Tell me what you think. Shout out to The Weeknd.

“At this juncture on the Sing-Off we’ve been living in a hotel for 5 weeks. It’s been an interesting experience to say the least. When all of these corridors begin to blend together and harbor your emotions, you begin to disconnect from the outside world and lose touch with aspects of your life that were once important. If these walls could talk…During these five week I have been so focused on The Sing-Off  that I haven’t been able to write any of my own music. The pressure of the competition hasn’t allowed me to channel any energy into anything but living and breathing The Sing-Off. Until now…”

I wrote this song during my time in the hotel that I called home during my Sing-Off experience. It’s a hip-hop song that documents the nostalgia and unease I begin to feel living in a hotel. These emotions are manifested through a past and current (or what was current) relationship. When I write songs I give you my life and experiences through a very honest and raw scope. This is Hotel Confessions. Enjoy.
